A comprehensive, intelligent tactical imaging system, Foxeyes is completely self-contained and adaptable to many systems. It constitutes a long-term strategy in line with developments in imaging and provides full support for SANDF and other military organisations’ requirements.

Image Capture & Transmission (FoxView)

FoxView is an image capture system consisting of a high resolution digital camera with long focal length lens and a night vision detector coupled to a man portable imaging unit that transmits and receives tasking and reporting information such as photographic images, sketches, text and voice. It also provides selective image compression capable of reducing a 4MB image to less than 100kB that will transmit in VHF in less than 60 seconds and on satellite in less than 7 seconds. Transmission is completely compliant with LinkZA.

Image Enhancement & Analysis Tools (FoxAnalyse)

FoxAnalyse enables images to be enhanced to improve identification. It has the capability to locate images and objects onto GIS and measures distances and object sizes. The FoxAnalyse image analysis system pre-loads GIS pictures with standard military symbols and offers special tools for texture analysis and histogram analysis. It also permits access routes to be clearly marked.

Image Stabilisation


Many systems currently use long focal length cameras to achieve visibility over long distances or to cover large areas. Invariably this requires high mounting positions on poles. The result is often an image that vibrates or shakes so much that identification becomes difficult. The stabilisation feature takes any live video and stabilises it, neutralising the effect of shake or vibration and ensuring clear images are available to operators.

Video Enhancement

Images are often distorted by external effects such as atmospheric haze, variation in illumination, low or excessive contrast and the like. Viewing over long distances results in images with poor clarity and distortion due to temperature gradients. The Image Enhancement features of this product overcome many of these problems and sharpen images in real time for better identification.
